Radiation

Research / Programmes

The year 2022 saw the publication of one of the main outcomes of the five-year, EU-funded MEDIRAD project: a set of recommendations on how to improve the protection of patients and medical staff exposed to low doses of radiation (1). And it saw the launch of GOLIAT (2), another five-year EU-funded project to investigate the potential health effects of exposure to 5G and understand how risks are perceived and best communicated through citizen engagement.

Our researchers also reported findings from the largest case-control study to date on the association between exposure to electromagnetic fields from mobile phones and brain tumours in young people (3).
